An every day object is here today and will eventually disintegrate and transform. This is true for all things, however if they are **made from non-degradable plastics** and synthetic materials this transformation may take a thousand years or more. Whereas natural materials will directly find their way back into earth’s lifecycle, without leaving any traces behind. For instance the Baumberger cradle mattresses are entirely bio-degradable and are recycled to make excellent compost for plants, again turning into a source for new life and seamlessly re-entering the rhythm of nature. From cradle to cradle, the **lifecycle **is complete. Moreover using natural materials for the first ‘little nest’ for your child will be highly beneficial in terms of **breathability, ventilation and heat retention properties**. These are the most important characteristics for a healthy sleep environment, which especially important for children who spend nearly two thirds of their infancy and early childhood in bed. Ergonomic considerations are equally important and natural latex foam with coconut latex offer the perfect solution. The Baumberger Production process means that all our materials are 100% sustainable. ‘Life can be messy, especially when you’re young’, which is why all Baumberger children’s and adolescent mattresses have removable and machine-washable outside covers. The additional cover underneath can temporarily replace it when it needs to be washed and also helps to make the outside cover slide on and off more easily. The mattress cores are offered with **two options for outside covers**: Pure new wool or a cotton- linen blend. **Linen **improves ventilation, which is very important for a children’s mattress. Since children grow very quickly it is important to buy a mattress that is a minimum of 25 cm longer than the child. Linen increases air permeability, which is very important in children’s mattresses. ## Our products ## CocoLana ### Baby / children’s mattress The core of Cocolana cot, or Cocolana children’s mattresses, consists of coconut latex foam, a visco-elastic material. Curly coconut fibres are laced with pure natural latex. Coconut fibre suspends vertically and is horizontally rigid, which makes it the perfect material for infant and child mattresses. The lying surface of the mattress is elastic whereas the sides are firm. This ensures that knee and arm joints of the child do not slide into the sides between the frame and the mattress. Cocolana is purely plant based, available with either a cotton-linen outside cover or a classic pure new wool cover. Latex foam and coconut latex, which compliment each other to make variable children’s or adolescent mattresses. The latex-filled side is soft and very pliable, whereas the coconut side has a firmer surface and the stability around the edges required for smaller children. The Vario mattress can be turned according to your requirements and preferences. The mattress is available with two outside cover options, pure new wool or a cotton-linen blend. All materials are highly breathable with excellent heat retention and humidity regulation properties. Its stability and firmness is the result of a process, which presses the sheets together, gluing them with the most natural adhesive: Natural Latex Milk. Solana still remains quite soft and is a very pliable mattress, offering great temperature regulating properties. Solana is highly suitable for children who are pressure sensitive. The coconut latex core is covered with a natural latex foam sheet on both sides. It is therefore possible to turn the mattress and experience equal sleeping comfort. CocoKid has great ventilation properties and has a point-elastic soft surface.
